Blog-alicious...

Morning!!! Well, it's certainly hotting up here in Glastoland. Yes, it rained last night, so yes things are a little soggy this morning, but it's very warm, and the forecast is good, and the mud is NOTHING compared to last year...and most importantly, spirits are high and people are dressing up! They say a picture paints a thousand words, so i'm going to shower you with photos from the last couple of days...

Oooh i wanted to upload more than that, but the internet connection is excruciatingly slow (i am in the middle of a muddy field, after all...) and my laptop is running out of juice, but worry not, for i shall be charged up and posting again very soon. Hold on to your hats everybody....woop woop! xxx

The masses arrive!

Kathy Fairy here on the fairy stall on this beautiful bright and sunny thursday morn! For the past few days now I have been ambling round the Glastonbury sight with my fairy comrades spreading magic and love to our highest degree! During this time my jaw has been firmly stuck to the ground in amazement and disbelief at the sheer magnitude of this event. Every day i've been exclaiming that there are just so many people here! Really this is a meer sample of what I have to expect over the coming days.

It is getting extremely exciting in our magical cave and I simply cannot wait for it to be jam packed to the max, so that we can bring new fairies into the festival spirit! The dressing up has been well and truely inforced by our fellow festivalers in the likes of the Hurly Burly and we hope the rest of the crowd will join us. The dream team are indeed rocking the dress ups this year! (with much help from some fabulous new lashes!!!!)

We seem to have an ever-increasing wildlife reserve in our camp with baby bunnies and during our staff meeting this morning we were even visited by a shrew on the stall!

Back stage in our camping headquarters this morning, we found a perculiar looking object on the side of the truck. One of the fairies suggested that it could be some kind of fairy truck parasite, happy to be attatched to our magical waggon! At closer inspection and masterful deduction with our fairy powers it was becoming clearer to us what this alien type object was. Having not seen an object like this for a few fairy moons there indeed some puzzlement, the picture below shows what we all could see! Rosa and Shelley Fairy being cheif fairies of our clan knew straight away what it was! It was one of our feather eyelashes! We could only assume it had been there since the last festival season as no one has worn that particular lash so far this season! It just prooves what staying power our fantastical lashes have!

Whoop whoop its Glastonbury...

Hello hello fairyfolks, lots of love from Glastonbury.
Its Mika fairy here.

With so much exitment in the air all of us fairies decided to crack on with setting up the stall, making it look amazing and finishing in time to have a wander around this oh so magical little city... I reckon we have done a great job. The stall looks fabulous, pink and ready for amazing times ahead. And we need to applaude the two guy fairies for a big big fancy changing room which looks like its only missing a discoball now.

Sooo... set up was done and all of us jumped in our first Glastonbury tutus and decided to raid every dress up stall we could find before they had even finished unpacking. Lots of fairyfriends joined us on our mission, such as Naomi who is in the picture above. Best outfit???? HAMISH. Throughout our little walk Hame fairy turned into a 20s housewife about to do the dishes, only to then top his outfit with some glittery pink leather-like 70s disco shirt - once again has Hamish taken his inner fairy to new hights... whoop.

Also along our way.. Shelley fairy is showing off her biggest and most colorful wings ever, Jess fairy is badly missed and not only by the rest of the fairy crew.., the Hurley Burley veggie-music-cabaret world has to become best stall and the sun is shining at Glastonbury. I know I need to get over this, especially as most of the fairies here had at least a few years of getting used to it but Glastonbury is so big. It is HUGE!! Loving it.

A new day is born...oh, and a baby!

Good morning! Well, the top news item of the morning has got to be the birth of Jason Fairy's son! Born in the middle of the night...so HUGE congratulations to Jason and Rachel. And how lucky is that boy, he's going to have a Glastonbury Birthday for the rest of his life!! We can't wait to see photos of the kiddo...we're still trying to get our heads round the idea that we will soon see Jason with a baby in his arms (he usually recoils away from other people's babies!!). SO exciting!

Anyway, back to the more trivial news items...we made a good dent in the stall set-up yesterday. I put up the holographic silver ceiling for the first time this season, which involves lots of clambering around on narrow metal bars high in the roof of the stall...the closest I'll ever get to being a trapeze artist I reckon!

Kathy put the finishing touches to our lovely new display board, featuring the Fairylove Story, and lots of fantastic photos to give people a flavour of what we're all about...

Shelley decided it was all getting a bit too hot and sweaty in the stall, so stripped off and continued her work naked!

We'll leave you guessing what's hidden behind that huge box.

Well, not much juicy gossip to report yet, but it's early days. So to wrap up, here's a nice photo of all of us eating the delicious dinner that Kathy and Esther cooked for us last night...from left Rosa, Mika, Kathy, Esther. Till next time folks xxx

Live from Glastonbury!

Oh my bloody goodness...I am sitting in a field at Glastonbury Festival (albeit with a green towel over my head so I can see the laptop screen properly) and I'm online!! Hamish got his magic dongle out for me and I've stuck it in my laptop (now now, no jokes), and with a mere half an hour or so of expert computer wizardry (ha) I've managed to actually connect to the internet! So here we are, and the sun is shining, and the delightful hurly burlies are just waving distance up the road from us!

It's a bit of an old squeeze behind our stall - we usually have space to park our truck behind (it's our stock room, and we're usually in and out of it all day) but this time we literally have this tiny triangle of grass, barely space to swing a cat!!
So there's gonna be a lot of trekking to and from the truck with big heavy boxes...unless we have a VERY kindhearted neighbour who'll let us squeeze our monster truck in behind them! Hame and Mooly have done a great job of doing all the boy jobs, like putting up the marquee - this is what it looks like this morning:

Meanwhile, Shelley has been making some minor adjustments to her amazing new wings - made especially for Glastonbury! They're are so huge, and look very real and fairy-like...can't wait to get out and about with everyone fully dressed up! Not a welly boot in site, woohoo!!!

Right, we'd better crack on with setting up the stall...so I'm going to love you and leave you with this beautiful inspiring image of me tiptapping away at the blog...I wouldn't want all this effort to go to waste, so make sure you check back for regular Glastonbury updates and I'll make sure I make it rivetingly exciting and gossip-filled, to leave you gagging for more!

Late-night fairy-ing...

Evenin' all...it's nearly midnight and I'm still up in the fairy office, getting creative! I've been making some pasties (which Shelley has re-named 'Tasties'...a much nicer name. For those of you who don't know, they're like nipple tassles, but without the tassles! Burlesque stylee...). I've made Shelley a baby pink marabou pair, with tiny flower diamontes in the middle, and I've been working on a peacock feather pair for myself, which is proving quite a challenge. I've just finished one, but I think I'm going to have to fall in to bed very shortly, so hopefully I can find the time to make another tomorrow morning...can't really wear one on its own!! I was packing the big truck until 10pm last night, but it's now ready to roll to Glastonbury, so I feel justified in shifting my priorities to nipple-tasty-making!! Hopefully appearing soon on the Fairylove stall and online shop.

It's pouring with rain at the moment, which would normally have me close to tears, it being so soon till Glastonbury and all, BUT i've just checked the forecast, and it's GOOD!! Surely we deserve a hot sunny Glastonbury, after the last one...and the one before that..and the one before that...

Fingers, toes, and eyelashes crossed.

I'm taking my laptop to Glastonbury, and will do my best to update the blog daily with photos and tales of our adventures, happenings on the stall, and behind-the-scenes photos! Watch this space folks!

xxx

It's all about to go pop!

Hello me lovelies!!!

Such a beautiful day here at fairy towers!! Amazing!!! Summer is rolling in and I am hoping that it's just like this down at the Isle of Wight festie where rosa and the fairy dream team are doing a fantastic job of spreading the Fairylove!!!!

Yesterday Auriol fairy came with her mum to pick up her bespoke wings for her 21st birthday party!! She was completely over the moon with her wings that rosa and I had both worked on together! Her mum also bought herself a pair!! I think they are the tallest fairy wings we have made and so beautiful, they look completely real!!!

On Thursday night I went up to basingstake for a fairy book launch for Lee Weatherley's new series "Glitterwings Academy"...Books about a school, for fairies...(these will soon be available on our site and a good read for all!!!)

Nearly everyone at the launch wore fairy wings, about 50 and it was amazing to be around so many other fairies.....We met Lee when she first ordered a huge set to wear to her book signings and she has since bought 4 more pairs, including a set for her husband pete!!! Now a self confessed wing addict!! It was a lovely evening!!!

Went out dancing last night, Nizlopi at Prestiegne...They were fantastic!!! It was in a big dome, beautifully decorated....If you ever hear of them playing, get along and check them out!!!

Off to sit in the sunshine!! Huge wishes and kisses to you all!!!

For Who The The Cock Crows!

Hey Fairylovers!

It's an early start here at HQ.....the next door neighbour's cockerel who has recently been servicing our girls has decided it would be a good idea to come and welcome the dawn by cock-a-doodle-dooing right outside the bedroom window. 5am. He may soon end up on the dinner table.

More chicken news.......one of the girls has gone cannibal and is pecking the eggs open. Shelley thinks she might have found the culprit....we think it's Atilla the Hen...hardly surprising really. Another one for the table.

And so groovers here am I tippy-tapping at the break of day trying to catch up on fairy office duties as we had a power outage for most of yesterday. For those of you who are fresh in to the Blog, I am delighted to announce that the Fairylove '08 summer festival season is now fuly underway!

Rosa took a team to Wychwood Music festival last weeekend and they all did a great job of spreading the fairyluuurve. Funny ol' festival though...we've done a few gigs on the Racecourse at Cheltenham, and I dunno, it just seems to lack a heart somehow. Organisers had created a traders section which ended up being more of just a corridor to the campsite and back.

Nonetheless all fairies had a great time launching the Fairylove summer prize draw, and congrats to Miika and Esther fairies who lost thier Fairylove festie cherries!

Another busy day ahead.....getting ready for Stawberry fair which is up next. Not one of my favourites as it is only a one dayer and is always just a little bit lary after 8pm. I've always wondered why drunk boys feel the need to actually piss ON the side of traders stalls rather than just on the grass!! Sometimes if you're really lucky you might even find a human poo next to the stall....sorry about that , but it's good you know that it's not all galmourous in a faire's world.

Our hearts go out to all the Sunrise Festival goers who had their festival completely cancelled. from what i hear other festies are stumping up and offering free entry to their gigs as compensation....good on you guys!

Managed to squeeze in a few hours with Rachael yesterday and only 2 weeks to go before my life changes irrevocably forever.....we're both a bit bored of thinking about babies and now just want to get started on the real deal, especially Rachael who thinks she is as big as a hippo. I tried fitting the baby car seat yesterday....what a pallarver......I have a feeling that nothing is ever going to be simple and stright forward ever again!
