More Playmates & Fairylove HQ news

Hey Fairies!

We've just updated our Playmates again. Our current Playmates our seen here transforming themselves..(yes, two at a time now!)..on Brighton Beach.
Head for the Playmates section of the site and don't forget to cast your vote again. These fairies need your support!

We just had an amazing weekend at Fairylove HQ. We invited a load of friends up to HQ to help with a bit of house preparations. Lots and lots of painting.........especial thanks goes to Matty and Sarah for the kitchen & breakfast room,
Emma and Mark for the glitter room, and Shelley and Rosa did a great job on assorted other rooms including a beautiful transformation of downstairs dunny!

We've had a chicken house sitting around doing nothing for over two years. Finally with the help of fairy friends, we at last got around to building a chicken run. Martin, aka Psycho Bunny, Jason, aka Evil Boss Fairy, and Tom, aka Super Fairy did the most amazing job of building a structure that absolutely no predator could penetrate. I think it might even be able to be used as a Guantanmo Bay overspill. Our first resident who appeared strangely overnight did not much resemble an egg laying chicken...

Another satisfied customer!

These amazing wings were today united with their fairy owner. They were ordered by childrens' novelist Lee Weatherly.
Lee is just about to go on a tour to promote her new book, Glitterwings Academy.

Shelley reckons that these fairy wings are one of the finest pairs she has ever made! There are eight separate wing panels and the massive wing span makes them look incredibly realistic. Lee looked like she was going to take off at any minute!

Lee came to pick up her fairy wings at Fairylove HQ, staying the night in the newly refurbished Fairylove B&B suite. The four poster bed is now fully draped in rainbow organza curtains.

Rosa in da office!

Hello, Rosa fairy here. Well nothing ever stays the same for very long round here...there are all sorts of changes going on in the world of Fairylove as always. I have just handed in my notice for the house I'm living in at the moment, so will be moving out in a month's time, into the flat that Jason has been living in next door to Fairylove HQ...he's just moved out to a house in Hereford...as I said, nothing stays the same for long round here!! My big news is that I have set a date for leaving Fairylove - 31st October - which will be exactly 3 years to the day since I first came to work for Fairylove as a fairy apprentice!

I had a near wing-disaster yesterday, after I accidentally used some dodgy glue that we bought by mistake, and it dripped all over the wings, and I then spent ages trying to mop it up with cotton buds, but it was just spreading and spreading...so eventually, after much help and advice from Shelley and Jason, we decided to rinse the whole wings under a running tap, to get all the wet glue off...which seemed to work amazingly well without damaging any of the existing glitter decoration! Woohoo...the wings now look as if nothing ever went wrong. Phew.

We've got the lovely Kathy Laffy Fairy here for a couple of nights...in fact she is sitting across from me packing up bags of Fairy Poo as I write this!

I found this photo the other day when I was sorting through a load of stuff in my old room at my parents' house...it's a photo of me in the Fairylove stall in 2001, at Womad Festival, the first time I properly met Shelley and Jason! I look quite shy don't I...

Shelley Speaks!

Hi everyone..it's Shelley!!

I am back from fairy travels abroad and happily settled back into Fairylove HQ...I had an amazing time away, Australia was incredible!! I spent 9 days back up at Wanganui and had beautiful waterfalls everyday, surrounded by rainbows...there had been so much rain and the waterfall was full to pumping!!

To get underneath is to feel gloriously alive and full of life!! On my last night there was huge rains and on trying to get back into the hills to retrieve my bags so I could get on a plane the next morning, I was nearly washed off the side of a raging causeway!! Glad to still be alive, think the fairies were watching out for me!!

We had our 3rd Free Your Fairy on the weekend and it was fantastic...

A delightful group of fairies came and made wings, did yoga, sang and dressed up and ate gorgeous food all weekend long and there were some firm friendships forged!!! fairy power grows ever stronger!!

Lots going on here at fairy towers with ordering and organising for our summer season gets fully under way...some big wings being made in the fairy workshop and all us fairies are beavering away!!!! off to yoga now kisses to all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Tom Fairy - New Fairy Flaymate loaded

Fairylove freind Tom from New Zealand today debuts as a Fairylove Playmate!

Tom took to our Playmate photoshoot likes a duck to water. We think he makes an amazing Fairy Playmate, and should he ever give up his day job, we believe he'd go far in the world of catalogue modelling. Cheeky smile, great abs for the underpants shoots and the camera loves him!!

Make sure you login and go vote for Tom in the Fairy Playmates hierarchy of fame.

Tom also features in our first fairylove film clip..The Adventures of Superfairy! this is still in the cutting room as here in the office we are still flat out organising, organising, organising.

Shelley has spent a good part of the day re-vamping the fairylove showroom in readiness for the weekend's course. Looking spectatcular!
Make an appointment and come and see for yourselves..we'd love to meet you of course!

In workshop world we're struggling with the new grade of wing wire......only in trained hands of a fairy wing making expert would anyone notice that the grade of steel is just slightly too soft. You have no idea how hard it is to get the right materials for top of the range wings!

Jason Fairy (me) slowly taking on board the enormity of becoming a father. Very much into the 'what are we going to call the baby?' stage now as relatives voy for pole position with names. Rachael's (fairy mum to be) latest suggestion is Moses......Mmmm sounds like a basket case to me. Still 3 months to go till baby birthday, and all well. Handing over to Shelley or Rosa for next blog..................

Shelley Fairy returns from overseas.

Shelley is now back in the fairy fold after a long trip back to Oz and to Fairyland to organise this summer festies's new range of items.

We're going to be expanding on our range of frilly knickers!! We are making our own range and are going to this summmers hottest item!

As always the bustle tutus are just getting better and better with a new range of colours.

If you didn't already know there's a new UK based fairy magazine been launched. We've got a bit of a feature in the latest addition. Click here for details of Fae magazine

Today in the office we were trying to work out the volume calculation in mm cubed and how to covert this into a volume measurements im m's cubed. Massive brain ache and abysmal failure...too long since any of us did any srerious maths. Answers on an e-mail please.

Our gay ducks seem to be adjusting a bit to having some girls on the pond and are seeming a little more adventurous now that it's turned wet again. Great weather for ducks...not for fairies!

This weekend we have our fourth Free Your Fairy weekend and we have a journalist coming from Spirit and Destiny magazine to come and take part and do a review so we'll all be on best fairy behaviour. Rushing around HQ tidying up and getting ready...doesn't seem much time left to make wings these days.
